For example, up till June of 2009, Malaysia had attracted almost RM12 billion in investments from the solar photovoltaics industry through FDIs.
The green market is set to boom. The global market for environmental products and services is predicted to double from $1.37 trillion a year at present to $2.74 trillion by 2020 (WRI and UNEP). Further, the building and construction industry is scheduled to create 2.6 million new green jobs by 2030.
