Latest ISO 9001 edition and draft of next ISO 9004 edition included on CD compilation of generic ISO 9000 standards ISO 9001:2008, the latest edition of the world's most widely used quality management standard, is included on a newly launched CD collection of the generic standards in the ISO 9000 family. The ISO Standards collection – ISO 9000 Quality management on CD contains 18 standards (including one draft and two technical corrigendums). The collection includes ISO 9001:2008, the latest edition of the standard that establishes the requirements for a quality management system and which can be used for certification by organizations that wish to have their conformity to the standard verified by an independent auditor. At the end of 2007, at least 951 486 certificates of conformity to the previous edition, ISO 9001:2000, had been issued in 175 countries and economies. Also included on the CD is the Draft International Standard, ISO/DIS 9004, Managing for the sustained success of an organization – A quality management approach. These are complemented by the rest of the comprehensive family of generic standards developed by ISO technical committee ISO/TC 176, Quality management and quality assurance. "Generic" means that the same standard can be applied by any organization, large or small, whatever its product or service, in any sector of activity, and whether it is a business enterprise, a public administration, or a government department.
