It’s safe to say that house dust mites can be found in most Malaysian homes. Unfortunately, this means that allergic responses to these mites are not uncommon.
ASTHMA and all-year round nasal allergy (rhinitis/sinusitis) are common, and the incidence is increasing worldwide (Malaysia included).
Most individuals with these respiratory conditions are generally happy to take prescribed medications to suppress their symptoms and are often not bothered to find out whether an allergy could be the causal trigger. Cats and dogs that move around indoors are also a source of food to house dust mites. They contribute skin scales, the main source of food for house dust mites. – Reuters |
